For Jilata's Game night at the den idea, I though that maybe we could have a game that rewards players for getting to know each other better. I mean past the "how's your mother" kind of stuff.

The general format of the game would be that players can choose a person to play with then pairs can compete against each other for points. Every player will be asked to answer questions about their partner and then the partner will be asked to give the correct answer. If the two answers match then the pair will gain points. The pair with the most points at the end will win the grand prize and then there will also be runner up prizes.

The sticking points here are developing questions that dig into characters' backstories, coming up with good prize incentives, charging reasonable RP prices to help fund raise for the prizes, find a way to limit or mitigate cheating, and keep multiple players engaged at once.

So far I've come up with putting questions into public books that will be handed back to the game "host". Giving limited time to prevent back and forth tells. Reading the answers out loud to keep everybody entertained, and mixing RP items, quest items, and normal items as prizes.

Once we work out the details of the game we can start the event planning aspect of it... advertising ICly and OOCly, encouraging players to start spending more time on their own backstories and getting familiar with the backstories of their fellow characters, posting teaser questions, asking RCD staff to come back Wink etc.

How high do you think the prizes should be?

Maybe giving some RP prize, like not having to pay for a while for drinks in the Den?

For initial games the prize should maybe cap at 1000 tria, if we do larger scale games (many people at once) the money should scale up.

For RP prizes I mean like items we design like trophies, "hand crafted" items, etc. things that don't require more than the 50 tria for a book.

We might also give out normal membership which gives some sort of calling card or some such things so that any bartender might know that the person has free drinks for a period. Maybe a voucher or something like that.

Maybe we can get a GM to rename a few items? So it is not a book called something, but instead an item which looks nicer? I think I have a wine bottle called "3rd price" or so from a racing event.

We might be able to do that as well. But we'll definitely have to do a big event to justify it.

However, we'll still need good questions and good advertising. My big concern here is that we have questions that dig up stuff from people's backstories, but are still short and clear enough for non native speakers to answer fairly quickly.

Hmm... probably.

How about we do the questions together? It is easier to come up with something when you talk about it with someone.

Hehe, that's what I intended anyway, but I did kinda hope we'd have more help and input. Oh well.
